Train the
whole player.
Baseball development built around real goals, consistent work, and steady improvement — for athletes who take it seriously and still enjoy the game. Built by Ben Harris to give the next generation of players the kind of training that shaped his own career.
- 2017 Under Armour All-America
- 2019–21 Two-way collegiate player
- 2021 Closer, University of Georgia
- 2021 Drafted, Los Angeles Dodgers
What we believe
Consistent work, over time, with the best tools and techniques, yields great results. We coach the whole player — skills, learning, teammates, recovery — and we focus on what each player can actually control. Every player goes through stretches that click and stretches that don’t. Our job is to help you turn the hard ones into your next strength.
We take the work seriously because training to play this game is a privilege. We don’t take ourselves too seriously, because the day it stops being fun is the day it stops working.
The approach
Six things we coach to.
-
01
Begin where you are.
Programming is built around the athlete’s age, ability, and goals — not a one-size template.
-
02
Control the controllables.
Skill, effort, coachability, teamwork, recovery. We coach what you can change.
-
03
The work compounds.
We set real goals together, put in the consistent work that moves them, and measure the progress as it stacks up. Improvement comes from the reps you keep showing up for — week over week, season over season.
-
04
Every player has ups and downs.
The work is turning the hard stretches into the next strength. We name it, we coach through it, we don’t pretend it isn’t there.
-
05
Recovery is training.
Mobility, sleep, and time away from the game are part of the program, not an afterthought.
-
06
You are not your stat line.
Your identity is bigger than your numbers. We coach against the trap of letting the box score decide who you are.
The coach
Ben Harris.
Ben played as a two-way athlete in college and pitched professionally. He’s hit, he’s pitched, he’s been in the cage at six a.m. He’s had real success in front of crowds, and he’s worked through the hard moments too.
He started 1921 Performance to pay forward the training environment he had — one that takes the work as seriously as the player, and that’s built around the goals you set, the work it takes to reach them, and the skills that keep getting better — not the next lesson.
When you’re ready
Serious tools — once they earn their place in your training.
As players advance, they get access to the equipment and techniques used at the highest levels of the game. The tech earns its place by showing you something useful — not by being on the website.
- Rapsodo & TrackmanPitch and swing data on every bullpen and round of BP, so what’s changing is something you can actually see.
- Video reviewHigh-frame-rate capture and side-by-side comparison built into the workflow, not bolted on.
- Baseball-specific strength & performance trainingProgramming built for the demands of the game — rotational power, arm care, and the strength that holds up across a season.
- Structured throwing programsWorkload management and progression that protect the arm and keep it getting better, throw after throw.
- Mobility, recovery & movement screensBuilt into the week, not added at the end. Mobility, sleep, and honest measurement of how you move are part of the program.
- Prospect advisementPlanning and assistance for players approaching the recruiting process.
“Set the goal. Do the work. See the progress.”
